Glastonbury Festival Line-up Announced, Yes Another Festival!

Never heard of Glastonbury?  Think of Woodstock in England, and you get the idea.  Glastonbury Festival will take place on June 27th – 29th.  The line up is quite
extensive and the headliners will be playing on the main stages.  There is the Acoustic Tent, Dance Village, Jazz World Stage, John Peel Stage, The Other Stage, and the Pyramid Stage.  The
Pyramid Stage: Is an iconic stage that has been part of the Festival since ’71, though it
has had many incarnations. Some of the most famous artists in the
world have played on this stage, and it is the centre of the Festival
every year. 

Other areas and venues include: Bandstand, Cinema Field, Field of Avalon, Glade, Jazz Lounge, Kidz Lounge, Late N Live, Left Field, The Park, Poetry and Words, Salsa at El Rythmo, Shangri-La, and
Trash City.   This is quite an extensive and massive festival that should prove to be worth the expense to get there.

Coldplay Announces ‘Viva La Vida’ Tour Dates

There are some 50 or so dates confirmed from the official Coldplay website. Let’s not forget that there are 2 free

Police Give The Money Back!

New York, NY – With Mayor Bloomberg, The Police announce their final show will be in NYC.  This will conclude their ‘retirement’ tour by giving some of their retirement money
back.  A $1M donation has been pledged by Gordon, Andy, and Stewart which will be matched by the city to support the MillionTreesNYC
program to reforest over 2000 acres of parkland.

Here is a quote from the official Police website:

“We are pleased to contribute to this powerful and historic initiative
that will undoubtedly improve the quality of life for future
generations,” said The Police. “We applaud Mayor Bloomberg and the City
of New York for boldly confronting the City’s environmental issues and
are excited to support their goal of creating a healthier, more
sustainable City.”

The Police also announced that their final concert ever will be a
fund raiser with proceeds benefiting the production of arts programming
for Thirteen/WNET and WLIW New York. Tickets will be available
nationally online via Thirteen/WNET and WLIW. More details about the
benefit show, including venue and ticket information, will be released
at a later date.

This is a very appropo place for them to end some 30 years later as their first US tour in ’78 started at CBGB’s.   They will always be remembered as a great rock band that
brought us some of the best songs like Roxanne, Message in a Bottle, and Every Breath You Take to name a few.  If for some reason you can’t make it out we will be there to
